The technology filed has been fast paced and changing at fast rates than it was ever anticipated. The good news is, technology can now be used to fight crime. The latest advancement in technology is an app called Citizen. Citizen App delivers a platform for users to report issues from their location and also receive responses by emergency response agencies.
This new service also allows users to provide pictures of the suspects, so that law enforcement can locate them and keep them safe. A good example of this would be if a user sees someone breaking into a car or does not know who took their bike, they can take a picture of the suspect and report it anonymously with safety agents getting involved as well. This is how the system works, responding to the user and their information to help clear up their situation by gathering evidence and helping solve crimes. The Citizen App uses this information to create a chain of action which will help get the culprit.
The new feature called “Protect” will allow users to turn on a notification whenever they feel unsafe and can then be connected to an employee who can directly escalate the call to 911 based on the emergency situation. This development will also be accessible for existing users to enjoy this feature. The safety agents are dedicated, trained professionals who will provide critical interventions to help you through any way they can.
The Citizen App is available for iOS and android, so that anyone can download the app to their smart phone and use it to report issues they see while walking around, driving or even sitting in their homes. The apps will work according to their needs and location. This new system has been built so that citizens can feel safe with police, even if there are no police stations around them, they can at least know that there are people out there who will respond to them and help them out. See this page for additional information.
