Michael Lacey was born on September 26,1959 and is known as one of “The Greatest Mathematicians In The World”. In 1987 is where he received his Ph.D. from the University of IL.at the Urbana-Champaign. While there he was under the guidance of Walter Philipp and he was working on several different projects; one of the studies was on probability.
With the help of his supervisor Walter Philipp, he was able to solve one of the most complex mathematical problems that was disturbing to people during his presentation on his thesis.
At Louisiana State University is where his very first postdoctoral position was at. He was also at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It was at UNC is where he and Walter Philipp presented proof of Central Limit Theorem.
